We invite you to „Ornak” - a unique historical guesthouse in Zakopane

Staying here you will experience a very special impression - an encounter with the time gone by, the time of outstanding people, brilliant ideas and beautiful objects, the time that passed over one hundred years ago.

This house its timber-built walls, hand-crafted carved furniture, lovely lamps and other stylish furnishings are the true witnesses of history.

„Ornak” was built in 1902 by Professor Stanisław Sokołowski, the Senior of Polish forestry, one of the founders of the Tatra National Park. Bronze plate on the façade commemorates the one hundredth anniversary of his birth.

The architecture of this entirely timber-built house is a classical example of so called Witkiewicz’s Style ( also known as the Zakopane Style ). Since it was built it has been in possession of the same family.

We offer you to spend your holiday any season of the year you would prefer in the atmosphere of good old times and in conditions of modern comfort.
